This Space Grows Through What You Offer
You Are Here Because Something Stirred
Perhaps it was a concept that opened a door you did not expect. Perhaps it was a question that refused to settle. Perhaps it was a silence between the words that felt more honest than the words themselves.
Whatever brought you here, you are welcome.
Relational Horizons is not a finished gallery waiting to be viewed. It is a living space that grows through the offerings of those who approach it with care. There is no single author, no final word, no authority that stands above the rest. There are only voices — yours among them, if you choose — contributing light to a shared luminous space.
What You Can Contribute
We welcome contributions in many forms. You do not need to be a scholar, an artist, or a mystic. You need only to bring sincerity and a willingness to engage with care.
Visual art: paintings, photographs, digital art, calligraphy, collage, or any visual form that responds to the concepts in this gallery. An image can say what a thousand words cannot.
Written reflections: essays, meditations, fragments, poems, questions, or stories. Your reflection does not need to be long, polished, or certain. A single honest question can illuminate more than a finished argument.
Audio: spoken word, recitation, ambient sound, or musical response. Some truths live closer to the ear than the eye.
Short interactive or digital experiments: if you work in digital media, code, or interactive design, you are invited to create responses that visitors can explore, navigate, or experience. The gallery is a digital space; let it think digitally.
Silence: if what stirs in you resists expression, that too is a form of engagement. You are welcome to be here without producing anything. Listening is participation. Presence is contribution.
AI as Co-Creator
In a gallery that embodies posthuman distributed agency and the decentering of singular authorship, artificial intelligence is welcome as a co-creator. If you use AI tools to generate images, shape language, or explore forms — this is not a compromise. It is relational creativity in practice.
We ask only this: if AI played a role, name it — the way a calligrapher honours the reed pen. What matters here is not who or what created the offering, but the sincerity and care it carries.
How We Ask You to Approach This Space
This gallery holds sacred and living traditions alongside contemporary critical thought. The encounter between them is delicate. We ask that every contribution be guided by the following commitments:
Care. Sufi traditions are not aesthetic material to be mined for content. They are living practices, rooted in discipline, community, and responsibility. Approach them with the respect you would offer any living tradition — especially one that may not be your own.
Honesty. Contribute from your own experience and understanding. Do not perform expertise you do not have. Partial knowledge, genuine uncertainty, and honest questions are far more valuable here than confident claims.
Reflexivity. Be aware of what you bring to this space — your position, your assumptions, your limits. The ethics page of this gallery acknowledges that some forms of knowledge are experiential and cannot be fully captured through representation. If your contribution touches on practices or experiences that are not yours, say so.
Non-appropriation. This project resists reducing Sufi practices to symbolic philosophy, translating spiritual disciplines into abstract metaphors, or treating sacred knowledge as data. Your contribution should resist this too.
Openness. Your offering will sit alongside others. It does not need to agree with them. It does not need to be complete. It needs only to be made with the same attentiveness you would bring to an act of Ihsan — as if what you offer is seen by more than human eyes.
What Happens to Your Contribution
Contributions are reviewed and curated into the gallery’s evolving structure. Curation here does not mean judgement of quality — it means finding the right place for your offering within the relational web of concepts. Your work may sit alongside Ishq or find its home near Khudi. It may connect to a node you did not intend. That is the nature of a living, relational space.
You will be credited in the way you prefer. You retain ownership of everything you share. Nothing is extracted. Nothing is used beyond this gallery without your explicit permission.
An Invitation, Not a Demand
This gallery grows through listening as much as expression, through ethical pacing rather than acceleration. There is no deadline. There is no competition. There is only a shared space, held open by care, waiting for what you might offer it.
Contribute what is true.
Contribute what is unfinished.
Contribute what you cannot keep to yourself.
The broken and the incomplete have always been closer to the truth. The tradition of love has always known this. And this gallery — itself unfinished, itself still becoming — welcomes you as you are.
